Not MMA. At any rate, there are plenty of HK flicks that meld these styles (shy of Tai Boxing) in one flick. Especially the weaponry.

MMA was done masterfully in Flashpoint (Donnie Yen). All the way down to the "sprawls" LOL. (I never thought I'd see an actual sprawl in a martial arts flick). Check that out if you want to see how MOVIE MMA (M-MMA) should be done. He even shows some of the training MMA training that he puts his co-stars through at the end of the film.

My thing w/ this movie is...WHNE IS IT COMING OUT...I thought that there was some sort of legal dispute surrounding the actual release of it and it may not see the light of day for a while (Does anybodyknow about that?)

You liked The Protector but not Ong Bak? I'm the opposite. The fight scenes in both were cool, but I liked Ong Bak's story better. I was mad shitty all through "The Protector" b/c I couldn't get past the fact that they went through all this bullshit over a fuckin Elephant. Even his father got himself killed trying to protect that damn elephant.

And in the end, the Elephant got gutted anyway.

I know folks will think that it's a cultural thing, but I have an extensive foreign film collection from France, England, Thailand, HK, Japan, Korea, Bollywood, etc...and a stupid plot is a stupid plot. LOL.

If Jean Claude's Van damn main motivation for fighting Tong Po in Kickboxer would have been to avenge Tong Po stealing his Siberian Huskie, I woulda been shitty about that too. LOL.
