Almost a year ago I made a thread about the rise of the UFC and the eventual problems Pride was going to face. Of course since it was an intelligent argument made with logic to back it up, it seemed to piss off a lot of Pride nuthuggers. Here's the thread:

With the recent surge in the popularity of the UFC, it's only time before the UFC and MMA truly becomes mainstream in the biggest market in the world. When they eventually (and hopefully) become mainstream in the United States, that's going to mean a whole lot of money to be tossed around. I'm talking about millions of dollars for 3-fight contracts for the top fighters.

So in between 5 and 10 years you'll most likely have these scenarios for each organization:
UFC = million dollar fights and the adoration of the richest country in the world
Pride = six-figure fights and the adoration of the second biggest MMA crowd in the world

If you try to argue that Pride will eventually pay in the millions of dollars for guys like Fedor and Silva, think about it. K-1 right now is a lot more mainstream than Pride, and they don't pay in the millions. The GP winner gets $450,000 in addition to his other earnings.

Now, here's where I go a little off-topic. When the UFC does (hopefully) become the top dog in all of MMA because it captured and made success of the biggest market in the world (US), the Pride nuthuggers like "prrride" will eventually become UFC nuthuggers and come up with "When did the UFC become the premiere ORG in the world?" threads. Then they will bash Pride whenever they get the chance because it doesn't take much logical thinking to yell out "UFC IS THE BEST." Even though supporting both Pride and the UFC is in the best interests of the real MMA fan, they will continue to come up with the most idiotic posts mankind has ever seen.

And here we are today. Sakakibara stated months ago that he was extremely worried about the rapid rise of the UFC. And now we see Pride trying to make a big push into the most lucrative market in the world: the United States. And now, if rumors are true, we see Pride asking the UFC for help.

Oh yeah I was wrong on one point. It only took the UFC to reach this status and not 5 years like I predicted.

I've been saying the same, but the response is always me being a nuthugger and that "PRIDE is mainstream in japan, they got action figures for christ sakes, noob!".

The mony for entertainment, especially sports entertainment, is in the States, and I've been saying that as well, but nobody listens around here to that and can't see the forrest from the trees.

I read that thread, and those were all typical responses. The fact is, this is a PRIDEkidz paradise, and I'm sticking around for one part is just to watch what happens when the tides change eventually. If I knew it was going to be like this forever with the "PRIDE is in a league of its own and better in every way and makes billions more than the UFC" I'd have left, but it's true.. the tides are changing and based on shit that I'm tired of saying, the UFC has the advantage at the moment being the strangehold on the States..

PRIDE may have waited too long to penetrate the american market, and that will be the downfall to their 'superiority'.

Of course, if(or when) the tides change where UFC is the top dog and PRIDE goes downhill, we see a bunch of assholes running around here screaming how everything sucks compared to the UFC, I'll be shitting down their throats too just like I do when these PRIDEkidz talk out of their backside.

The plan is to beat the shit out of the best fighter UFC has in his own house, paving the way for Pride.

Although Pride has already destroyed Chuck not many typical UFC fans knew about it. Its clear that Pride is using UFC but only to humiliate UFC in front of their own audiance.
