I think alot of Indy Wrestling fans have that same mindset that hardcore metal fans have. They will accept anything because it's not mainstream, hardcore metal fans say "They play so fast and it's so heavy" but fast and heavy is great until it gets too fast and too heavy, then it sounds like shit, but it's underground, therefore, it's cool. Because they're that desperate to be cool and cutting edge.

Same way Indy wrestling fans think, it's not WWE, therefore, they'll accept spotfests which is all well and good, an 810 degree splash is cool the first time you see it, yet it gets boring after the 100th time. And when there's no psychology, that 810 degree splash has no meaning behind it.

Apparently, these are Hulk Hogan's greatest tall tales.

Trainer Hiro Matsuda broke Hogan's leg, tore up his knee, and knocked out his teeth but Hogan kept coming back, brother.

Didn't know wrestling was fake until right before his first match; thought he'd trained for a year for real fights.

Got his 24-inch pythons from hauling cargo off the docks.

1st match in Japan was to be a draw with Choshu. Blassie told him to shoot and win in three minutes and he did.

Nobody cared about the Sammartino/Zbyszko match at Shea Stadium; they were all there to see Hulk vs Andre.

Caused a riot in NY by beating Gorilla Monsoon. Angry fans overturned the taxi he was driving in

Created the concepts of wrestling merchandise and entrance music and gave both to Vince.

Was almost run over by Mr. T's limo when T tried to no-show Wrestlemania I.

Tore every muscle in his back when he body slammed the 700-pound Andre the Giant.

Andre the Giant died three days/weeks after Hogan beat him.

Sweated so much in the 80s Vince had to buy replacement WWF Title belt 10 times every month (120 times a years, he was champion for a total of 5 years, that means he went through 600 WWF Title belts, which would have cost about millions)

Had to re-write his movie scripts himself because they weren't any good. Never got the screen credit due to Writers Guild rules.

Doctors wanted to have his neck fused after Undertaker injured him with the tombstone piledriver at Survivor Series 1991, but he refused.

Wrestled at Wembley Stadium in 1992.

Was his idea to make stars out of Paul Wight/The Giant and Goldberg.

Was going to make millions on the Hulk Hogan Grill, but he was out the day they came to see him so George Foreman got it instead.

Worked for 15 years with a blown-out knee.

Claims he was the one to call Bret to tell him of Owen's death.

Told Vince to buy WCW.

Came up with the idea of buying tape archives from old promotions and putting them on a channel.

Partied with John Belushi after Wrestlemania 2 in 1986 and had to have Belushi thrown out as he could not hang with hulkster in terms of drinking.. ( Note : Belushi died in 1982)

Was offered the role of Randy "The Ram" Robinson in "The Wrestler".

The early crowds were energetic and passionate. Booing Jeff Hardy out of the building while chanting "You can't wrestle" at him, meanwhile cheering the shit out of a classic bout between Eddie Guerrero and Super Crazy, then celebrating the likes of Abdullah the Butcher, those were great crowds.

The little smarky crowds who think its good just because its the biggest independant in the U.S. are the crowds who suck.

I'd like to see some citation on some of those claims about HOgan. I've read a few of them, some ridiculous (like the entrance music one) and the somewhat believable ones (Foreman Grill thing), and the commonly accepted ones (Matsuda broke his leg). Some of them I know are blatantly not from Hogan (like the 24" pythons from cargo hauling) as I've read his book, and he talks about the cargo hauling, but doesn't credit it exclusively for his arms.

as far as hogan's belt story, i am pretty sure he is referring to the leather strap portion of the belt and not the plating.

That was actually early 99 when nash did become booker besides I don't think the nwo were relevant in late 98 were they?

The wolfpac were very popular but the real Nwo black and white around that time was filled with the stevie rays of the world wrestling on thunder
