Hughes is past his prime so for Alves to beat him isn't nearly as significant as if it were 2 or 3 years ago. If you want to make that argument with BJ than I guess Nogueira lost against Herring, Cro Cop, Sylvia, Bob Sapp and more because he tends to get his ass kicked before coming back and winning...
Hughes, in my opinion, should go down as the greatest UFC and American MMA fighter of all time. The only people that can challenge that is Couture and Randy has too many losses in my opinion. I don't care if he's a 5 time champion, he also lost the belt 5 times as oppossed to Hughes who has 7 title defenses, 2 title wins, and 2 non title fights as champion that he won.

Hughes is a HOF lock. People try claiming he was one-dimensional, but how can a guy transition from being a slam and bang wrestler to a guy with a brown belt level submission game be one-dimensional?

Cade has a broken nose I think?He was injuried about maybe a month or two ago, I don't remember what but think he got a broken nose somehow at a house show.
I like Matt Hughes but I'd rather have Randy Couture as Captain America then Matt Hughes,Couture is pretty much the Rocky Balboa of the sport,both Hall of Famers for sure though.

I've no love for religion at all, but Hughes is a great. He may come across as a prick, but that has no bearing on his fighting career. Hall of Fame.
