hahaha i use it from time to time aswell. but thats what WWE calls their talent, so i can see why it would be used when talking about WWE superstars

I only use the term because I'm referring to wrestlers that are actually of superstar status as opposed to jobbers in WWE that are also referred to as superstars. Smarks is an overused term that has a range of implications, sometimes being used postitively, sometimes negatively. I just think of myself as a fan, no different or more special than any other fan. I'm no better then someone who just started watching wrestling yesterday and I'm no worse than someone who's watched it every waking hour of their life

i honestly would love to see Taker go completly undefeated at WM. have both of them in a retierment match at say.... WM 26-27 (all depends an shawn, cause i know the guy is beat up) but have Taker go out on top, sending shawn into retirerment. then having... actually idk how i would want taker to retire. i was gonna say have taker announce that was his last match. but given his gimmick, he cant really go on the mic after a match and completly break kayfabe...
which leads me to ask. when taker finally does retire, how does everyone think it will go down? i honestly cant think of a way for him to do it, especially given his gimmick. its not like he can go out like natch did (although i think the standing ovation ric got that night was fucking amazing, aswell as the following night on RAW. that was one of the best shows i think ever. and im not a huge Flair mark like i know a few of the guys here are.)

see thats how i am. my friends know im all about wrestling, which is funny cause they all give me shit about it, but whenever they come over to my pad and watch it with me, they ask a billion fucking questions. but i see smarks as guys who know all the insides and outs. sure i know some inside stuff of off the things i get from some insider sites. but i think of myself as more of a mark than anything. i still love to get caught up in the moment. when Jeff Hardy was getting his huge push on RAW earlier in the year i was going fucking crazy! i was so stoked that my boy was finally getting his title push, and was completly devestaded when he popped negitive on a wellness test.
but the mixture i have i think is the best you can have. when you know the inside stuff, know what going on backstage, but can still get into the product like you have no idea whats going on. wrestling is my passion. i love MMA which is why i joined this site, but wrestling is my passion. if i wasnt 5'6 id be training and doing shows (atleast trying to do shows) some of you know this from my early apperance in the 3rd PW thread.
being a smark is great and all, but i still love to get amped about things going on in the PW world, and alot of the time when i go onto the insider sites and see "spoiler" i dont read it, so that i can have that mark feeling when something sick happens. the only spoilers i read are for SD/ECW/TNA, when i know i wont be able to watch the show

I'm a huge Taker mark so for me when he retires I'll react like flow or hawk reacted watching Flair go out. His gimmick makes his retirement interesting because although I think it gives them more options on how to retire him, he can't exactly have the huge ceremony and tribute that Flair got unless they want to break away from his gimmick. There are a few possible scenarios they could use without getting too corny. There's the obvious buried alive or casket match that he never returns from, or they could have him carried off by druids after his last match. But I think they should keep it simple. Whenever it's decided it's his last match or appearance, have his music hit one last time so he can get the standing ovation and then have the lights go out and he dissapears. Not as sentimental as Flair's but I would say appropriate.

I'm the same as you. Even though I understand the backstage workings and the non-kayfabe stuff that goes on, ultimately I'm a fan that watches it for the moments that make me cheer. Like you, I don't read spoilers of the taped shows because I like to be suprised when unexpected stuff happens on TV. I went crazy when Punk won the tile (insert punchline here), I got excited for Jericho coming back last year and no matter how many times he does it, I will always love an Undertaker return.

i think the lights going out, and coming back on, then he is gone is a great idea. but for me i would like to know that for sure it is his last time on WWE TV. while i think he very much so deserves the same send off flair got, his gimmick greatly takes any chance of that away. which sucks because the guy definitly deserves the same send off, if not bigger because he has made a name for him self in the WWE, and for the past 2 decades has been with the E... which like i said earlier, and what you said just now, a send off like that would kill his gimmick. but i say fuck it, and let the guy have his send off.

oh absolutly man. when Jericho returned this time, i avoided every single "Save_Us spoiler" thing i saw. even though these threads didnt really help me avoid them, i still popped for when he returned. from all the sites i read, im still stoked when taker comes back.
i just wish he was on RAW so come October, i can see Taker as Undertaker. the one and only time ive seen him was during his American Badass gimmick. and to say you've seen taker live, means you've seen the Undertaker. not his random-ass biker gimmick. but hey.. ive still seen taker
btw, that reminded me, the house show i went to when i was about 12-13 was one of the only house shows that ever had a TLC match. unfortunitly it was an elimantion TLC match and E & C had the titles at the time so the Hardys didnt win. and the 2nd house show i went to was when Jeff was feuding with Umaga when Umaga had the belt, so obviously jeff jobbed. so ive never seen any hardy win live. but atleast after the jeff/umaga match, jeff was the last one out and got to walk around the areana and say whatsup to fans. it was fucking great. he came up my isle but the asshole next to me wouldnt let me over to shake his hand. (the sandman also came down my isle during that show, and ive already told you about the story of me meeting him about 2 hours before the show, PM me if you want to hear it)
does anyone know if when RAW is in a city and there is no PPV the night before is stars do signings?id really like to go to one seeing as ive never been. im still waiting for Jeff to have a signing in the OC, swear that would make my day, and would be my AV for the rest of my time on Sherdog

I'm torn. Part of me wants the sendoff just so I can mark out for him one last time and he deserves it more than anyone, but another part of me wants to see him stay in character until the end. They could make me really happy and do both, Have the lights go out after his final match and then the next night on RAW give him his Flair sendoff.

i dont think they could really do it that way. unless.... they do a tribute show the following night, and have the whole show with people telling stories of him and what not, then when the main event is suppossed to happen, takers music hits, he comes out, doesnt even need to say a word. and just have everyone come out and give the same reaction to him as they gave to flair
