Honky was a piece of crap in the ring and got to where he was because he was friends with Hogan. Honestly, in the ring he was crap and he was just barely above average on the mic. I was never a Honky Tonk Man fan and I can't say I was ever entertained by him. I'll watch other IC champs reigns like Savage, Hart, Michaels, Hennig, Bulldog, and even Warrior before I watch Honky's. I'm sorry, I just don't see what some fans like in Honky. I guess he was never my cup of tea.

i never cared for HTM either. My greatest IC champ thing about him is a a work based on his enormous ego . I never saw the figures for his drawing power but he claimed he headlined "B" shows that outsold Hulk's "A" shows. He hit Jake with a real guitar btw that fucked up Jakes neck real bad.

As a self admitted Andre mark, I kind of like the fact he never got the belt, simply for the fact that almost no one would have been believable taking it away from him. With the territory jumping that was done in Andre's day, I think that was for the best. Back then he was a face too, so it wouldn't have been like Flair, where everyone wanted to see him get his ass beat. A unbeatable face champ usually doesn't draw well for very long (with few exceptions).

goddamn..another HHH reign..i guarantee its gonna last until WM at least..maybe a champion vs champion against Taker..where HE ends Takers streak at the same time..becoming undisputed champ!!!...god i hope he tears his quads again or some muscle...i agree with Dibiase deserving a title run...damn Hogan...i also thought that Rick Martel deserved a bigger push then the "model" got..

i wasn't alive for Andre in his heyday..so i only remember him as the semi-crippled Andre that could do headbutts and get stuck in the ropes..but from what i read...he was so over and respected..he didn't need the title..plus apparently..he never lost..whose gonna tell "the Giant"?

I'm a big Andre guy and I think he should have had a legitimate reign at some point, but DRH is right about nobody beating him so it really didn't make sense for the most part. I just thought he could have at least held it for a few months before the Hogan slam at Mania 3 (I believe). That would have been just as good as the program they had. He could have beat the immortal hulk and then he comes back for the title win at Mania.
That said, it didn't seem like a big deal to him as he was making mad cash touring and winning, and he was the first inductee in the E HOF so he has no shortage of respect for a non champ.

There is a new wrestling quiz on WO
1. Ric Flair may have shared the womanizing habits of JFK and Bill Clinton, but he is a staunch Republican. Flair campaigned for Mike Huckabee this year, and he has also socialized with President Bush Jr. Flair also campaigned for George Bush Sr in what year?
2. Jesse Ventura shocked the world when he was elected Governor of Minnesota. I remember going to work the next day and people were saying what a joke it was. They must not have realized that this was not Jesse first foray into politics. Jesse was the Mayor of what Minnesota city before becoming Governor?
3. For all the talk of John McCain temper, Bill Clinton is the one with a history of physical violence. He once tackled his strategist, Dick Morris, and almost took a swing at him before Hillary convinced him that would be a bad move. As for Bill, he was rumored to have been a fan of the Monday night wars. What heel faction was beginning to take off and get over as Bill was running for office for his second term?
4. My Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, once appeared on Raw several years ago for an angle. Arnold, of course, is a longtime friend of Jesse Ventura. Name the movie those two did together.
5. Former President Jimmy Carter has said his favorite wrestler is who?
6. Which wrestler has a finishing maneuver that is named after (not intentionally, of course) a former Vice President and former Presidential candidate?
7. Barack Obama came under fire last month for his relationship with the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright in Chicago. Rev. Wright seemed eerily similar to a wrestling character in the early 90s who did the screaming, over the top religious preacher gimmick. Name that character.
8. The man who once did borderline X-rated vignettes on Raw has a keen interest in Canadian politics. Name the political party Val Venis identifies with.
My answers off the top of my head:
1) 1992
2) Brooklyn Park
3) NWO
4) Predator. Also Running Man
5) Haystacks Calhoun?
6) Rhyno with the Gore
7) Brother Love
8) Dunno

Val's Libertarian.
Arnold and Jesse were also in Batman and Robin IIRC.
