I went threw a good few years where i didn't watch wrestling myself. Not really because i didn't like it, just because i thought it was lame to be watching it when i hit my mid teens. I went so long without watching it I'd kinda convinced myself that i hated it, until one night there was nothing on and i caught a pay per view that we got free over here on sky sports. it was the one where cena threw edge off a ladder and threw two tables to win the belt, and trish had her last match...anyway, while i was watching it i realized watching it was still fun as hell, and iv been tuning in regularly ever since. I denied that i watched it for a while to my bud's and my girlfriend lol, but now I'm like fuck it, yea, I'm a wrestling fan.
Nowadays I'm probably just as interested if not more so in the shit that goes on behind the scenes, the politics and what not, and as an adult you realize that its got to hurt like hell to pull all that shit off too, so that keeps it interesting lol.

On Meltzer, he's the first guy to cover pro wrestling on a regular basis breaking kayfabe by writing about what actually goes on behind the scenes and what not. He created what is now known as "dirtsheets" within the wrestling world and had his life threatened by wrestlers many times...still does lol. He's also been covering MMA since 1993 as well. Out of all the so-called wrestling journalists and historians out there, Meltzer
PROBABLY know more than anyone else about pro wrestling and its history. And while he's often wrong, he is the most credible wrestling journalist and has been the most credible wrestling journalist for over 20 years now.
All the top guys like Hogan, Hart, Flair, Savage, and so on used to live and die by the dirtsheets. Foley said that Meltzer helped him cross over into the US with his dirtsheets.
As for myself, I got the chance to meet Dave Meltzer back in 1993 when I was just 9 years old. I became friends with former Portland territory promoter, Don Owens's grandson and I met Meltzer during a visit to Portland. Meltzer was kind enough to talk to me for like 3 mins and he gave me a 1 year free subscription to the Wrestler Observer Newsletter and I've been a subscriber ever since.
As for me not watching wrestling anymore, it has more to do with having "other" more important things to do now instead of watching wrestling. I'm still in college and haven't watched a full Raw/SD/ECW/TNA in over 2 years. But I still try to watch the indy and puro stuff as much as possible. Less promo and drama.
And yes, I've been more into pro wrestling over the past two weeks due to the Flair retirement angle and discovery the wonders of Wastland even though I've really been a Sherdogger for 3+ years. I just never wandered here. Thanks for bringing me back to pro wrestling guys...this is such a special moment...

lol. Seriously though, this thread is slowly resurrecting the pro wrestling fever in me.
