My impression of Wrestlemania:
For the first time in two years, I've been pleased with Wrestlemania.
Excluding the idiocy of not showing the Battle Royale on TV (who the fuck puts on a BR as a dark match?!) and the squash match (for a title?!) this card was very good and my interest (outside of smark stuff) in WWF has dropped precipitously in the last few years.
Even the woman's match was great and I hate women pro-wrestling.
The endings of Flair v. Michaels (the best of the night) and Mayweather v. Show were excellently done. The reason I say so for Mayweather is that it was obvious that Mayweather would win, but at least this was an intelligent way for him to win, instead of an unbelievable one. Flair wrestled his fucking heart out (the best performance I've seen of him in...well, a FUCKING long time) and HBK fought awesomely. Even with the half-missed moonsaults (I thought HBK could have been really hurt as the announce table broke weird) from MIchaels (though thankfully they didn't over sell the second one) the match was flawlessly done and kick ass.
And you know what made my night? The fact that John Cena was booed beyond recognition and I heard constant chants of John Cena sucks. He has apparently lost his fanbase. Thank you fucking God.
HHH should have won the belt. Randy Orton is a terrible wrestler and champion. It is about fucking time for HHH to get the belt again. I know plenty of people don't like him, but he is the best heel still active and he makes people excited baout the belt.
Edge v. Undertaker was a good match (not great beyond words) and ended well. The Gogoplata (for the first time) looked well performed and it was cool to see a submission victory for a title at Wrestlemania. When is the last time that happened? Wasn't it when Bret Hart beat someone for the belt?
But seriously. What the hell was up with Kane winning by squash?
