From what I heard, before Punk started using it on ECW, the guy got in contact with KENTA (which wouldn't be hard to do as they both used to work for the same company) and asked him if it was okay and KENTA gave the thumbs up for Punk to use it.

I'm more annoyed that it is a Lariat and not a clothesline, but yet WWE announcers call it a clothesline.

So, in other news I'm amped. I just saw the two matches announced for ROH's PPV taping in Detroit (which I'm attending). I'm fairly certain I might see a title change hands in Nigel McGuiness VS Claudio Castagnoli, then there is my favorite wrestler Bryan Danielson taking on a guy that I've grown to like in Tyler Black. Should be an awesome show.
