Despite having considerable pull, this was still before the days of creative control. the buck stopped with Mcmahon, and at the end of the day he picked who Hogan worked with. If Hogan was really worried about more talented guys making him look bad, he would have never wanted to work programs with Savage, Piper, and Dibiase, and would have tried to politic out of them. If you think finisher's were ruined by two people being able to kick out them, and not by the dozens people who treated ddts and piledrivers like transitional headlocks, then I don't know what to say. The lack of logic on that one is mind boggling. I never said everyone but me is a smark. Just you. You can't get past the fact that most fans out there love them, even though you don't like Taker and Hogan. I'm still waiting for your answer on why exactly Taker should retire.

First thing, going back to your other post, I'm delusional if I think Roberts is better on the mic than Hogan? Although he had popular catchphrases, Hogan is and was nowhere near Jake's league on the stick. That's just dumb by any stretch of the imagination.
Second, Hogan had plenty of stroke as far as who he did and did not fued with during his time with Vince.
Third, heres some logic for you:
1) Hogan is the first wrestler to regularly kick out of finishing holds throughout 80's
2) Undertaker follows suit it early 90's, along with Warrior a little bit (Before the Taker/Roberts match the DDT was THE finisher because it really could kill you. Soon after it was just a regular move. Piledriver was already a regular move at this point.)
3) By the Mid-90's, wrestlers are kicking out of each other's finishers all the time and doing DDTs and other devastating moves as "transition moves" since they had been kicked out of so many times already.
Hogan and Taker SET THE PRECADENT for kicking out of finishing holds. Maybe the same thing would have happened without them but that is how it is.
Someone said something about chairshots, etc. ECW and hardcore wrestling in general is responsible for ruining chairshots, foreign objects, etc, in the sense that they are no big deal anymore.
Fourth, everyone on this thread, including you and me, is a smart fan or smark or what the fuck ever you wanna call it.
Fifth, I don't care if anyone loves Taker or Hogan or not, so there is nothing for me to "get past" there. LOL. I will call someone out for not jobbing or holding wrestler back if I feel like it. I will make fun of people who like Cena though.
Finally, I think Taker should retire because:
(Most of these I have said already)
1) His schtick is old and boring and has been for 8 or so years
2) Like Flair who should have retired a few years ago, he has done everything there is to do in the business
3) He takes up a spot that other guys could fill and has for 8 years or so
I couldn't care less if he is making a ton of money or is still poplular, those are HIS reasons for staying, which are separate from MY reasons for him to get the fuck off my TV screen.
