You're not a huge MMA fan, you're the same kind of guy who at UFC 3 would've said "OMG THIS GRAPPLING STUFF IS SO BORING" because you have a preconceived idea of what is interesting in fighting. It's funny how the haters are so loud when in fact the poll reveals most people respect Machida.

Oh and did you watch Machidas last fights? How he dominated Soukoudjou and worked for a finish throughout the fight? Did you see how many times he almost finished Tito in that fight? Did you see Tito's face afterwards?

Did you see the extremely boring Griffin vs Rampage fight in comparison? 25 minutes, less action, less finishing opportunities, less precision and talent. Now do I see you whine about Griffin or Rampage? Nope.

tl;dr: if you don't like Machida, fine. But if you can't see how he's an entertaining fighter, you suck at watching MMA. You really do.

His style is the essence of MA. To inflict damage, without taking any, or minimal. That is the whole point of a fight right. Unless an individual is some uneducated redneck who wants to see 2 guys stand toe 2 toe and throw punches until one gives. If that is the crap someone wants to see, go watch Toughman, because MMA is not for you. Machida is extremely well rounded, and is exceptional at all aspects of the game, and trains with Big Nog., and Anderson Silva, the two champions in UFC. I have said it time and time again, that The Dragon is the Sonny Chiba of the MMA world. One day hopefully he will take his rightful place as one of the GOATS of the MMA world. Until that time he will still have my support.

I have updated the original post in the light of news about Machida vs. Thiago Silva.
