I think Machida is a boring fighter and don't care to see him fight again.

Yeah, there has been a massive negative and unwarrented over-reaction against Machida and his style. It really stinks of perverted man-love for Tito Ortiz.
Machida is highly skilled, and the fact that he doesn't just lay back and enjoy eating a bunch of Titos elbows is not a negative.
In fact I rather enjoyed all of the skill he showed including his awesome TD defense.

Do you think the UFC would be successful if it were full of Machida's? His style may be effective and he could continue winning but people will not be excited to watch him and he will not become a big draw and the name of the game is money.

This is a classic example of American vulgarity, very middle class.

If you can't appreciate a fighter who has the tools to stop a murderer like Sokodju(sp) cold turkey, not to mention be the only guy besides Anderson Silva to decisively hand Rich Franklin's ass to him.
But lets ignore all this (selective memory/ignorance does sustain your arguments) Stick with the vague clichés, breaking down his fluke-like success. You can never say "evasive" or "marathon" enough. Especially when his recent "marathon" ended up in Tito's guard, raining elbows like Tito is known for. A balls-out exciting fighter like Forrest on the other hand...
Oh! but Machida didn't give Tito enough time to take him down. They only clinched, what... several times?
Basically, what the controversy comes down to is insecurities resulting from a serious lack of info on what Mixed Martial Arts truly is. Granted, Machida is not the most exciting fighter when you want to tune into a train-wreck.
Solution: You can now buy early UFC fights in bulk. You know, the days where skill, technique, athleticism, etc took a backseat to recklessness. The days where the fighters you most likely root for reigned supreme.
Sorry Machida isn't your cup-o-tea, but considering his track record against s-k-i-l-l-e-d fighters, you're going to be bitching and moaning for a while.

nothing you just said had any credibility whatsoever. thats your opinion so stop preaching it like its a fact. some people don't like machida...deal with it. you have further proven my theory that all machida fans are nazi know-it-alls who are the only veteran fans in the world of mma...and all other people who don't enjoy his fights are just stupid mongoloid noobs that know nothing of mma and just tuned in...i must be a TUFer. oh wait my first mma experience was in 1998 watching sakuraba vs. newton. wow.
wow!!! the controversy comes from insecurities caused by lack of true martial arts knowledge? really?!?! is that a fact? well congratulations to you on being a mature veteran of mma and telling us "insecure noobs" aka non machida fans where the controversy is rooted from. you're brilliant. please forgive me for being an ignorant noob because i'm not thrilled by machida and wanting to hug his nuts like a member of a facist machida cult. please forgive my lack of fighting knowledge and martial arts knowledge. i am such a stupid ignorant noob because i'm not a fan of machida. forgive me TS for i have sinned. i've only been boxing and wrestling for 12 years...i've only been doing jui jitsu for 6 years. i've only been an mma fan for about 10 years ever since saku vs. newton.
i love how every single machida fan always brags about how they're seasoned veterans of mma. and i especially love how they shun everyone else that doesn't really fancy machida for being reject retard noobs. congrats TS...i'm very proud of you for being a seasoned vet...thank you for not being insecure due to your vast knowledge of martial arts. i feel so inferior to you...machida fan. i wish i could be more like you and be a fan of machida...but i'm not.
i love how you give a psychological analysis of why there is controversy of machida. LOL...EVERYONE WHO ISN'T A FAN OF MACHIDA IS INSECURE BECAUSE THEY LACK KNOWLEDGE OF MARTIAL ARTS! yes you heard it. thanks you again thread starter...almighty dictating machida fan. i praise your vast mma wisdom and knowledge. if only i could be more like you. i wouldnt be so insecure....and i would like machida more...only if i wasn't insecure because i lack understanding of martial arts. brilliant thread man...brilliant **OBVIOUS SARCASTIC TONE

I dont like Tito and I was rooting for LM. And I did not like Lyoto's performance. Only for the fact that he did not attack enough. And basicly if you get 2 fighters that fight like that it will be a very boring fight.. Very boring... He only attacked a hand full of times, and that would be 1 hand full in 15 minutes. But he did say he was very ill, so I respect him for even fighting. The guy came out sick, and pulled of the win. So it is understandable that he would fight a bit more defensive then normal.
But all of these LM fans are dilusinal. He is not the comming of mma christ. The guy is good, good at frusterating the fans, and his opponent by not attacking enough. He has yet to face a top 5 LHW, so he is not as high ranked as you people think. And I for one lost alot of.. how can I put this... Want of seeing him fight again.
I just can't imagine how a fight would go if a fighter wanted to play his game, and NOT attack at all. What what LM do, IMO, not much.. He would most likely wait out the first 2 rounds, before trying an offense. And to me that is just not good enough to pay money for.
