Some could argue that 10 seconds of a 3 round match isn't that exciting but i like Machida and think his style is awsome!

There are some very uneducated fight fans here. Oh shit this is Sherdog, I forgot. Seems it is filled with people who only want to see caveman slugfest who don't appreciate technique and skill.

Lyoto is extremely intelligent and a gifted technician in the cage. He doesn't run, he game plans for each fight to work his opponents strengths and weaknesses.

People have been comparing Kalib and Lyoto and that is utterly ridiculous. Kalib ran the entire fight, Machida picked Tito apart, BIG DIFFERENCE. Lyoto is a very smart fighter with excellent technique. He approaches each fight differently depending on the opponent.

Lyoto finished Soku in his last fight and nobody was bitching about him being boring. Some people do not understand game planning for a fight. If you know that you are facing a big, strong wrestler with excellent GnP then you would be a fucking retard to get in there and be in a position to get taken down and beat on.

Lyoto was "sticking and moving" not just running. He was catching Tito with leg kicks and punches. He even opened up a cut on Tito's eye. He was able to stuff any TD attempt from Tito and counter. He even took Tito down and knocked him down.

As for not trying to finish the fight, that is complete BS.

He took him down in the 1st round and was using some pretty damn good GnP in an ATTEMPT TO FINISH the fight. The bell sounded so he didn't get to finish him.

In the 3rd round he nailed Tito with a knee to the mid section that buckled Tito big time after which Lyoto jumped on him for some GnP in AN ATTEMPT TO FINISH the fight. Tito was able to sustain the attack and get a triangle choke locked in stopping Lyoto from finishing the fight. Lyoto escaped the triangle/Tito switched to an armbar and the bell sounded.

If he was "running" the whole fight he wouldn't have been able to do any of the above. I am really starting to wonder if any of these people actually watched the fight. What did you want him to do? Let Tito take him down and GnP him?

People saying Lyoto did nothing are ignorant and/or need to remove the "I am a Tito nuthugger" glasses off and re-watch the fight.

I agree, Machida won, no doubt about it. And there is a lot of talent that comes with what he does. But at some point going forward he is going to HAVE to engage and become a more aggressive fighter if he wants to become a big draw and champion in the sport.

Tito got shown for what he is, a dinosaur in this sport who has absolutely nothing left for anyone close to the top tier of the 205lbs division. Watching Machida make him look silly for 15 minutes was like watching Titos "marketability" slowly drain away with each passing minute.

That's all Machida did the entire fit, the other 13 minutes he ran. Tito couldn't catch him. Similar to Nate Q v. K. Sterns....

When Macida Took Tito Down Hard, That Was The End Of Tito. Machida Is An Incredible Fighter. He Has An Excellent Chance Of Being The Next Lhw Champ Soon!! But So Does Wandy.
