I think Machida is a boring fighter and don't care to see him fight again.

I don't see what the big deal is. He is what he is. Don't care.

He could have, at any point in that fight, gotten that takedown again, and finished Tito in about 30 seconds, but no, he NEVER EVEN TRIED IT AGAIN.
He CLEARLY has the ABILITY to stop the fight, or at least make an honest attempt at it, but he is just as clearly CHOOSING not to really pursue that, he is choosing instead to win on points, and it almost cost him the fight.
I agree 100% about his great ability and technique, but he needs to add some grit and aggresion into the mix or he is eventually going to lose to somebody completely out of his league because he lets them hang around the whole fight.
Just look at Anderson Silva, he is equally as skilled, but doesn't let anybody out of the second round, that is why one is universally loved and one is universally frustrating.

You can't expect a fighter to be like another. Anderson Silva has a punch that is a lot stronger than Machida's. Machida comes from karate and he fights his own game, he doesn't relinquish control of the match. That's a correct fighting attitude. Maybe he could have finished the fight the way you think, and maybe he couldn't, but your speculation is pointless because you'd be the last person to know, and the first person to know would be the guy on the ring.

That's boring alright. Technique, fluidity, speed, and utter domination.

it is weird looking at machida's face... he had NO scars or cuts. it is as if he never was in a fight in his whole life... his timing is just that good.
tito got owned, but it has nothing to do with tito's skill and more to do with machida's skill. obviously from that fight machida >>> rashad evans, chuck liddell, etc. he is top 3, but will never get a title shot because i dont think the ufc wants all brazilians as champions since they are trying to appeal to
ENGLISH speaking people.
machida is in an awkward position. he is way too skilled but can seem boring to the untrained eye, and he can't speak english. from a marketing standpoint those two bullet points will probably deny him a title shot indefinitely.

not really. The ground & pound Machida inflicted while in Tito's guard was also a "highlight" (at least for me )
Machida actually looked exactly like Tito used to look in other's guards, dishing out those elbows.

the only 2 highlights??
Are you people forgetting the several switch kicks he landed, as well as leg kicks...
Not to mention I don't think he got hit significantly in that entire fight. He reminds me of Floyd Mayweather. He's not going to go out of his way to try to pulverise his opponent. Thats just dumb. He's going to WIN and whatever else comes with it does

exactly, people always talk about Penn going up and fighting him at such a weight class to overhype Penn, but Machida doesn't beat anyone by being bigger, he beats them by showing he is simply a flat out more skilled, and better technical fighter, and that goes for BJ Penn against Machida as well.

Machida is amazing. This is mma where the best fighters win, not the most flashy ones. Go to wwe for flashiness

Yeah im sure that if he thought he could finish him under 30 seconds, but decided not to, just 'cuz.
Not impressed with your logic.
