It was an excellent display of technical striking coupled with amazing footwork and movement. It was beautiful to watch him nail Tito at will with crisp, clean pin point striking and it was awesome watching him frustrate Tito by being able to completely nullify any offensive attempt Tito made. Tito wasn't able to land anything decent the entire fight, he was never able to hurt Machida and other then the sub attempt near the end he wasn't even close to having Machida in any real trouble.

I was never really much of a Machida fan and I don't think beating Tito Ortiz raises your stock all that much these days but what I do know for sure is that Tito is gone and I hope that all his little douche bag fans go with him. I wont miss his childish antics, his lame unfnny t-shirts, his stupid contrived drama, his constant griping about Dana White, etc, etc.

And I made $300 on the fight...

life is good =)

Machida fights with a Big Tim style of fightin..a hit and run..scared since he has no KO power..and he not able to finish any fights..besides the Soku,Franklin fight..he need to give his fans somethin more of a show..

Probably the most intelligent thread Ive seen on here yet.

Thats exactly how I saw it.

Machida adopted Bruce Lee's philosophy of hitting without being hit last night. He employed that strategy beautifully (anyone who says he ran last night either hasnt been around the sport long enough or has his/her head up their ass).

Machida exposed Tito completely as a ZERO dimensional fighter last night because he was able to keep himself from being under Tito where he excels.

Tito's standup is a joke actually and he never came close to taking Machida down.

Machida harrassed Tito.

Mishaja's Summa summarum:

Machida landed:
21 kicks,
23 punches
3 knees
3 elbows
1 takedown

Tito landed:
8 punches,
3 knees
attempted a triangle/armbar.

51 scored aggressions vs Tito's 12

Numbers are conclusive.

You are clearly an idiot if you think Machida didn't outclass, out strike and outfight Tito.

That's boxing. Ali was my favorite fighter ever but many people felt he ran a lot. But go back and look at his record. He stopped a LOT Of guys in the 60's. The fights that defined him though were the ones where he was put to the test and made to fight for the length of the fight. Joe Frazier for instance. That's what Machida needs. Tito is too one-dimensional and couldn't pressure him.

Getting back to boxing, the style of dance and jab is what has turned off many to the sport. So many want to be Ali. Mayweather is the current king of that style of fighting. In my opinion it's one reason fans got turned off by boxing and on to MMA. Put two fighters like that together and you get the most boring fight imaginable. Arlovski and Werdun as an example. Both great fighters just like Machida but yeah, that style can be boring as hell. Especially in a shorter 3rd fight like we have in MMA.

Machida put on a damn MMA clinic. I will always enjoy watching this guy and will continue to pay to watch his fights - his talent and skill are as good as I've seen at LHW. Very impressive.

I also am forced to agree that in general the Machida haters just don't seem to get it. To me it's never boring to watch a superior thinker/tactician utilize his greater mental and physical prowess to dominate a tough but less skilled opponent. Machida is the epitome of the mixed martial ARTIST.

Watching 84 I couldn't help but dream of a Wandy/Machida fight; that would be an amazing battle of contrasting styles/skills.

TS is totally correct. People who think Machida ran need to learn some stuff about MMA. I know some people would prefer if he just stood toe to toe and exchanged head shots until one of them fell over but there are guys who are skilled and use technique to win not just brute force

Dude, one..... i think if youre gunna be a striker you should be able to finish a fight...be elusive but finish fights...It the same concept as starting wars and not finishing them, and nobody likes that..I.E. George Bush

Also, choke on your words if you think for a minute that anderson silva and lyoto are in the same league.
