It's the same potential problem for wrestlers, only on the ground.

That doesn't mean that every "elusive" striker is running, or that every "dominant" wrestler is only a LnP guy, but I don't think anybody wants to see a lot more strikers - strikers with less talent than Machida - trying to emulate his style.

I think the real issue here is that most people (those watching the fights) don't know how to respond to Machida's style... It's too new and too foriegn to them so the do what most everyone does when they don't understand something they've seen or head... they say "i don't like it".

The fighters, on the other hand, would probably love to fight with his in/out style of hit and feint BUT they don't know how to do it Or they just suck at it and go for the rapid fire flurries instead. Who really needs to change here; Lyoto or the other fighters? It might be cool to win in exciting fashion but hospital visits and concussions are never any fun.

Ownage is always entertaining and Machida always delivers it.

Problem is, some people are too stupid to appreciate ownage that does not involve a KO or a festival of drunk-style windmilling.

But by all means, keep booing cretins - you're just part of the overall spectacle.

Tito triangled the BJJ black belt last night. If he had adjusted his position a little bit Machida would have been tapping or passing out.

I have watched that fight three times already and it was one of the worst fights I have ever seen in my entire life. Machida and Ortiz flinched like they had never been punched or kicked before. I thought the Olympics came early with that point TKD style Machida was doing. Horrible fight both fighters are B level, once Machida fights Wand, Chuck or Rampage it is over for him, and unfortunately it has already been over for Tito since UFC 40.

Machida showed he can hit and run during two rounds and that he was unable to finish Ortiz.

tito got shut down in all aspects of the fight.

and it wasnt a boring dry hump fest like most of tito's fights.

What seemed like hit and run to the untrained eye, is actually a very intelligent method of avoiding damage while inflicting your own.
