Was Rickson v Saku ever scheduled?

I know that Sakuraba wanted to fight Rickson, and that it never took place. But was the fight ever scheduled? Someone mentioned that the fight was scheduled, but Rickson had to back out when Rockson died. Was that the case?
Because I think that makes all the difference with all these threads about Rickson not defending his family's name by ducking the challenge, etc.

Also if anyone has any sources of Rickson saying he could defeat some of today's top mma fighters I'd like to see them. I'm not challenging anyone or anything. But I see so many threads bashing Rickson, and others worshipping this record that nobody seems sure Rickson even has ever seen or endorsed.

ohhh dear, people are going to lynch you (not me though).
Yes, supposedly it was then Rickson's son died.
IMO, Rickson was dodging Sakuraba. Saku kicked the shit out of his little brother in front of him and glanced at Rickson during the fight. Saku proceeded to put his little bro in a sick kimura, the move used to dislocate/break their father's arm. Rickson fights that randon Japanese guy, Funaki in year 2000. Royce, not the oldest brother and not the family's best grappler, comes out of retirement and fought Saku at the 2000 GP, risking his undefeated (i believe) record and having to throw the towel after 1.5 hours!

Yeah I know about him destroying Royler, I have that on dvd. I haven't seen the entire fight with Royce, but someone in another thread said that they thought there was at one point a scheduled date for these 2 guys to fight, but that Rockson died and Rickson had to back out. I wasn't sure if this was just rumor, or if anyone could actually substantiate this. I've never heard that before.
