I think that Melvin has the tools, however unfortunately, I don't think he has the humility to learn from his mistakes and this is a fatal error in the MMA game.

GSP is the antithesis of Gulliard. He has the skills yet is still humble enough to learn. Melvin should learn GSP's style, it's the only way he will ever be champ.

does stiring the pot make you feel important? 90% of the people that hate on melvin will admit that he has linitless potential. problem is his attitude. someone else said it best in a thread title, "melvin is the next joe riggs". to be cocky is one thing. to be a complete asshole is another thing.

when its sunk that deep, with Joe stevenson (a strong 155'r) theres no real escape for it...he couldnt do a whole lot there, just, he shouldnt of gotten clipped and feel like he did, and be put in that position

hes only 24...lots of experience already, and has the tools...as long as he has good people around him, he'll be good...hes powerful, but his striking looks sloppy at times
