Master striker or grappler?

For street self defence and surviving typical street violence, would you rather be a master striker or a master grappler? Either or.

I'd probably go for striker and get the quick ko on the feet so grappling will not be necessary, but if it does go to the ground, I guess i'll be dead. Tough choice.

Well if you don't have any takedown defense being a great striker won't be that great. If your a great grappler, all you have to do is close the distance and get some underhooks and you've practially thrown their striking ability out the window.

Ideal would be probably a quick KO, even before he opens his yap. What can beat that?
