LOL@UFC's 65 plus million dollar purchase
One would think that if Zuffa forks out $65-70 million for PRIDE Fighting Championships, that Zuffa would have the forseight to have Fedor, the universally recognized number one fighter on the planet secured to a contract. This apparently is not the case.
Dana White has tried threatening Fedor with lawsuits and stripping him of his PRIDE Heavyweight Title if he were to fight for another organization under Zuffa ownership.....which has no merit, as Fedor has a clause stating he is permitted to fight in his home country of Russia. Way to get on the good side of the best fighter that has ever lived.
Dana White has been quoted as saying "other MMA organizations outside of UFC and PRIDE are a joke". Let's see, Fedor is being offered $3 million per fight, something Zuffa will not match, from one of the companies that White considers a joke, in Bodog FIGHT. Now tell me, what makes more sense, paying $65 million or so for a company, changing the essence of PRIDE which will most certainly allientate its Japanese fan base (among other places), watch as key fighters leave for other organizations (HERO's, Bodog, etc) or paying $3 million per fight for the greatest fighter in the world - for a fighter that will BRING AN AUDIENCE with him and give credibility to an organization that will be able to boast "we have the number one fighter in the world".
