Lets set the record straight about marijuana being banned by NSAC

It is not banned because it is illegal in America, that's the main reasoning I hear people say on Sherdog. It is banned because its on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list and that's what the NSAC uses.

Eh, isnt banned because its a mind altering substance that could lead to serious injury if some fighter is stupid enough to use it close to fight time?

Also, it's not that they consider it performance enhancing, it's that the rule is there to protect the fighters. People keep saying, "Oh it's just weed man! If anything, Diaz was at a disadvantage!" That is the point though, it is dangerous for people to smoke weed and fight. If they allow weed, sooner or later people are going to go fight high. If someone goes out there not 100% focused or to the best of their abilities, serious damage could happen.
