I hear people talking about it but I'm sure how effective this stuff really is. Does anybody take it?

I understand Israeli military train in it but thats not really saying anything. Afterall, it could still be an ineffective as TKD in real life situations for all I know.

Krav Maga isn't very useful for MMA, seeing as how it's mainly used to quickly disarm a person by striking illegal area's.

Krav Maga is good for self defense but it has no use in MMA.

Strikes to the groin, eyes, nose and throat are pretty base, yet, very effective.

ive seen some of the "masters" train it and they punch all sides of each others necks at the same time (odd) and do a lot of cold cocking body parts with kicks or punches because they train in taking hits. Sometimes impressive but otherwise i dont really think it would be that effective by itself, maybe with some muay thai training in a street fight itd be good but if you miss your strike and they dont your fucked especially 2 on 1

Its not saying anything that the Israeli military trains in it? Are you serious? Do u know how many years they have been fighting the Palastinians and Terrorists? And althogh its fun to make fun of TKD on these boards, fighters like The Crow and GSP use TKD kicks very effective in MMA!!!

So to answer your question it is IMO a very good martial art for real time defense and fighting. Not a Mc Dojo MA at all!!!! As far as MMA goes....well the rules kinda make it obsolete.

despite the replies you are getting here, Krav is mostly crap.

Oh, it used to be a bad ass military style, but then it was packaged for moronic consumers looking for 'one hit kills' and other bullshit.

most krav places wont even let you spar, because they know their style will go to crap under pressure.

Krav Maga is effective. The moves are simple and easy to use. It's just for street use only.
