Just saw Redbelt
Now for most people expecting this to be a MMA event on the big screen... it is most defiantly not. I wouldn't even classify it as an action or a sports film. It is a drama through and through, defiantly inspired by Kurosawa and samurai films in general. It is a look at what it takes to be a true "martial artist" not a professional athlete. Almost all the characters were well written and believable. The story was a little coincidental in its delivery and in it's climax, but all in all a fairly decent movie. Defiantly not for the testosterone, beer drinking, Affliction wearing, Tuf watching, 18-34 male demographic that makes up the majority of MMA fans.
