How good is Fedor Emelianenko?

Sorry if this question has been done to death but I NEVER watched pride, only the UFC. Now that Pride is invading the UFC I was just wondering how a person would Describe Fedor's strengths since I hear that he is hands down the best. Examples, Randy Couture - awesome takedowns, awesome ground controll/ground and pound but poor striking ability.

I guess I never went out of my way to watch Pride because of the ropes! It seems weird to me that you would just have ropes instead of a cage in MMA. I mean, are people constantly getting tossed out of the ring? Does the ref have to call time out and move the fight to center all the time (that would seem lame)? You need a cage for MMA!

I think having Fedor armbar Rocky would be make more sense. It could be an alternate ending to Rocky IV.

Watch Fedor vs Nog 3, his transitions from punches to throws and takedowns is sublime.

Then watch Fedor vs CC and see how he outstruck one the greatest strikers in the sport.

Finally watch Fedor vs Nog 1 and the GNP he delivers to Nog from the guard. That should give some idea of just why he is at a completely different level from other fighters today.
