GSP vs. Anderson Silva???

as much as i normally hate these hypothetical threads, this is one im VERY curious about. in another thread i wasjust looking at, everyone was talking about if GSP loses he might move up in weight, which he may. so i was thinking about good matchups for him at 185. with that said, how do you think he and anderson solva would stack up against each other? i think it would be a very entertaining, exciting fight, although id def have to pick st.pierre by tko. i just think with their styles, it'd be a great matchup and action paked from stop till finish.

thoughts?

even if GSP is a HUGE WW, id see him losing most of his power when making the jump. Silva by KO. ( it would be close for sure )

Silva's fought at 175 before has he not. possible they could find a catch weight, and Silva is one of the few out there who could give GSP a run for the money, really to tough to tell as it could play out a number of ways.

St Pierre however will not go anywhere until he takes the 170 belt and defends it for a while. I know mma fans like to dream up a bunch of nonsense, but if by the small chance St Pierre loses to Hughes, although mma fans think there are few options for him at 170, he will continue to fight at 170.

gsp has the technical ability to compete with Silva. I can't pick a winner without knowing the conditions of the fight (which weight, etc)

It would be a good match, but I do not want to see GSP move up weights one bit.

i'll go with gsp, probly cuz he is one of my favorite fighters but also because he is very strong and quick with explosive takedowns, so he could get silva down and maybe control him there (although silva is actually very hard to control on the ground) thats pretty much how i see the fight going because i don't really see st. pierre getting ko'd

Hmmm, i dont know. I still think that in terms of technical ability, Silva is far superior to GSP.

Silva would KO GSP. Not to take anything away from GSP, but Silva is a guy that we are talking about taking the belt from Ace who is a huge MW.

gsp would destroy anderson silva, all would have to do is take him down and he pretty much doesnt know what to do on the ground.
