Doesnt the champ have to have his title taken in decisive fashion

I thought the fight sucked last night. Rampage let me down because he should have gone after Griffing and Griffing let me down because he should have fought harder like he wanted to take that belt away from Rampage. When he was on top in that second round he didn't do anything.

I was always under the understanding that normally if a fight is so close they give it to the champ because the challenger has to take it away from the champ. I personally would have called that a draw last night. To me neither guy really looked hungry. The crap that upset me from both fighters is on Forrest behalf when he talks about how much it hurt and this and that, man i don't care we are aware it probably hurt. Just say it was a tough fight, and Rampage got me mad with with comments about going to party, if I were him I would have felt I got robbed and made a big deal about it not just pretty much say screw it. It doesn't seem like Rampage has that fire he use to have.

If they meet again I hope they actually try and destroy each other.

That's sort of an urban legend, it's not actually written into the rules anyway.

Myself, I'm glad that Rampage didn't win because of this reason.

I can see someone scoring the fight for Rampage on it's own, but I'd be pissed if the judges gave it to Rampage based on that axiom.

Each fight should be judged on it's own merit, who cares which guy walked in with the belt, or the record, or the bigger name.

It's round by round scoring, not for the fight as a whole so after they submit the round scores after every round and then the fight ends in a decision they can't take the scores back and give it to the champ because it was close. So no.

Rampage doesn't seem hungry anymore he made it he is making a ton of money and now he just seems content with fighting and thats it. If he wins or loses it doesnt seem to bother him that much.

The champ does not get "extra points" if the fight is close. The champ has to bring it as much as the challenger.

Wasn't Forrest the bigger name from a casual fan's POV? People who have never watched any other MMA than UFC have been getting Forrest Griffin thrown in their face for 3 years. I'm willing to bet the average casual fans don't know much about Rampage other than he beat Liddell twice.

I'm always supporting Rampage, win or lose. I think the judging was bias, I'm sorry, I know Rampage made no excuses so neither should I, but the fight I saw was at the very least a draw, if not a succesful title defense.

War Rampage.

short answer- no

longer answer- shouldn't the champ defend decisively, if not then why should he keep it?
