this guy can probably only name like 2 boxers, mayweather and DLH.

He probably watched them fight, got bored by one of the most disgraceful boxing cards in recent memory, and decided he wasnt gonna like boxing.

i DARE anybody with the same views as this guy, to watch COTTO-MARGARITO on JULY 26th, tape it, watch the replay for the free the next week or w/e, and then come on here and tell me boxing is boring.

That fight will match any UFC and/or MMA fight this year in terms of excitement.

You guys just cant judge boxing by the sh!t u seeon ESPN2. that stuff is garbage. thats like judging UFC by the ultimate fighter shows

It was possibly the greatest fight ever and truthfully the rules and regulations will prevent MMA from ever having a war of that epic proportion.

But no fighter should lose so much in one ring, in one night and in one fight. It pains me to hope two fighters come close to matching that fight.

Gets hit so damn much? I thought that head movement and blocking were some boxing fundamentals. Sounds like bad boxing is the culprit.

Boxing is just one of four major pieces to the complete MMA game.

#1 - Wrestling

#2 - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

#3 - Boxing

#4 - Muay Thai/Kickboxing

There are essentially two ground-oriented disciplines and two striking. Boxing is very basic and probably the easiest of these four to learn well enough to implement. I think that is why it gets the Rodney Dangerfield treatment. Plus the sport of boxing has barely been relevent for what, 10 years now.

the numbers are pretty equal now, but its clear that MMA is going up and up and up, while boxing is pretty much nuetral at this point.

I mean, this time next year, id be surprised if the numbers were close. thats just my opinion

I guess you could call me a casual boxing fan. I'll watch 7-8 or so boxing events a year (1-3 matches per card). I enjoy it at times and appreciate the skill, but am nowhere near as impressed or entertained by the athletes as I am with MMA.

And I do regularly engage in pointing out MMA's superiority over boxing in terms of both safety and skill. But that's more so just a defense of MMA's right to be accepted as a legitimate sport by the mainstream media than it is any anti-boxing sentiment.

dude give up
i've seen boxing matches
and the whole time i was thinking, "go for a double leg"

different sport, and if boxers call out mmartists for no apparent reason and try to diss the sport we love, and every retard sports broadcaster use the "i love boxing" excuse to diss on mma
mma fans will think of them as pieces of shit and think their sport is dumb as well

its true.

Marquez-Vazquez finished one of the most brutal and thrilling trilogies in recent memory. Niether guy will probably be the same.

But thats what defines boxing. These guys lie it all on the line to win. I mean, sure, they might beg for more money before hand and what not, but in the ring theres just as much passion and pain in boxing as there is in MMA
