Cro Cop Will Never Be A Champion In The UFC
I for one am happy, if the rumors are true, that he is returning to the UFC but he will never be champion. The Cro Cop I saw against Al-Turk is not ready for the likes of Carwin, Velasquez, Lesnar, Couture, Dos Santos, I don't even think he could be Herring. He barely got past Al-Turk and he has no striking skills. Plus, he doesn't intimidate people like he use to. The guys mentioned all either have power or excellent gnp skills. Let's face it folks, the Cro Cop we once knew is no more and he will never contend for a championship in the UFC.

CC was doing fine against al turk, even before the eye poke. He just started out tenative like the recent, shitty version of CC, but once he let his hands go the fight was pretty much over. I dont think he even has a shot against lesnar. I think dos santos, gonzaga, and cain would probably beat him.
But I do think he could still make some noise in the division depending on the matchup. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't have a shot against mir, nog, couture (based on styles)
As usual, it all depends how he mentally shows up

Call it whatever you want but CroCop hasn't shown much since late 2006 and this is coming from a CroCop fan.
The top 5-6 guys or so in the UFC HW division are tailor made to give CroCop huge problems. He'd have a hard time ever getting anywhere in the UFC. Career wise he is much better off in Japan.

I REALLY cant see what people are getting at with the Al-Turk fight. Cro Cop let him throw whatever he wanted, and CroCop didnt get a scratch. Takedown attempts were EFFORTLESSLY thrown off, and when CroCop decided to throw, Al-Turk didnt want anything to do with him. He looked good.

Barely getting past Al-Turk? LMAO. He was never once in trouble in that fight, eye poke or not.
I do agree that I'm pessimistic that he will be able to win the title but I won't write him off yet.

Agree with this. It's not as if CroCop hasn't fough big strong wrestlers before and done quite well. People thinking he'd get demolished by guys like Cain and Carwin are crazy. Brock probably has the wrestling pedegree coupled with his strength to get the fight to the mat consistently but I could see CroCop doing pretty well against most guys if he's motivated. I personally want to see rematches with Gonzaga and Kongo. Let him fight one or two mid tier guys and then put him in with the top fighters.

Cro Cop destroyed Al Turk. The only reason people are bashing Cro Cop is because of the infamous "eye poke"
