this is the thing about your statement. Yeah he will retire the champ and even if he beats Wanderlei his legacy wont be greater than silvas this is why.

I love the UFC so dont flame me, but Chuck has to fight the best one fight after another like wanderlei and shogun and those from Pride have. NO one ever questions Prides champions as ok fighters but the UFC has Sylvia and Liddell and Franklin, they are always in question because of their lack of ELITE competition when they finally get the belt

Why would Chuck or any MMA fighter retire as champ? They don't make enough money to do it, they will always fight that one more time to get the pay check, when they can't draw the bucks or
start realizing they will embarass themselves losing because of diminishing skills and/or better competition, they will quit, (they won't get paid the same when they start to lose anyway) but not as a champ.
