Hey Sonnen. You fail at being a heel because you got your ass whooped by BJJ. People don't like you because your fights are boring, not because you're trying to be Brock Lesnar lite.

I think that's what really makes it pitiful because everything he says comes off as robotic and pre-planned, you can tell that he's not really a "bad guy." It would probably be in his best interest to train with Brock and learn some of those WWE techniques because he really needs to work on his schtick.

I agree with you - it's incredibly transparent and really not that effective. But, I understand his predicament and actually feel sorry for him. It's really not his fault that the common mma fan still isn't interested in many of the skilled fighters out there, and instead prefers the big talkers and the swing-for-the-fences style brawlers over a consistent, accomplished pro. That said, it's hard not to shake your head at this lame attempt at marketing himself. I know he's a successful businessman and realtor in the real world, I just hope he's better at selling himself in that field than he is in the fight game.
In any event, I've enjoyed most of his recent fights, and am still interested to see what he can do in the cage once the mics are off.

this thread has been done a few times.
HE WAS JOKING! he even says that the only thing that trumps wrestling is bjj. You guys that cant see the sarcasm need to take a deep breath and step back from your computer for a second. Why would he seriously say that? He even says that he has the fastest hands at Team Quest, in reality he's known for having the slowest.

You have been hoodwinked, if you are an MMA fighter you already know the need to crosstrain (cough..Hammer House) and that would include boxing, wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing etc....
As already mentioned he is probably trying to attract some sort of attention, if Kimbo can garner the ratings he does perhaps him creating enemies might not be a bad thing for his career. Win or Lose people will watch if he can get under your skin enough.

How would the guy even get him down to submit him? World class wrestling, you think some bjj blackbelt's gonna clinch and trip him down? Don't think so.
