After reading and hearing so much praise for BJ Penn I thought this guy must be some monster with insane skills who is fully deserving of the constant praise. The only thing I believe now is the old adage, "don't believe everything you read".
Besides some short UFC highlight reels, I saw BJ fight for my first time yesterday on UFC Unleashed. He fought GSP to a three round split decision. And at no time during that fight did I witness anything close to the impressive MMA skills that everyone and their dog have been barking about since he upset Hughes and took the belt. Sure he came out agressively with good strikes that bloodied up GSP a bit, but that was it. The fans that tried to say BJ should have won are blind. After watching and reviewing the fight I have concluded that GSP indeed won that fight. And I also scoff at the judge who gave BJ two rounds to one: was that guy watching the same fight?
As far as I am concerned GSP recovered and fought BJ to a draw in round one, and than GSP kept up the pressure with excellent strikes, and kicks and forcing BJ into defence against the cage taking BJ down several times for the next two rounds giving GSP a clear unanimous victory by winning the last two rounds.
At no time during that fight did I see even the slightest evidence that BJ Penn is a world champion Black belt of Jiu-Jitsu. From the guard he attempted maybe one or two submissions that GSP shrugged off with consomate ease.
As far as I am concerned he was a flash in the pan that did nothing noteworthy in the UFC other than truly upsetting Hughes. And I can say with complete confidence that Hughes will rectify that on September 23rd.

GSP clearly won rounds two and three ... i even think he rallied to tie round one ... if all you BJ nuthuggers want me to, than ok I will let you have your round one victory for BJ becuase he connected with a few punches that round yet somehow his mighty prodigy-like blows only aggravated his opponent who went on to win the next two rounds?!!! ... so than we should have the following score (regardless of the scoring system): GSP 2 Rounds, BJ Penn 1 Round. OMG WHAAAATTTT that BJs a freaking God Prodigy his punches sent GSP to a 7 year freakin coma OMG how did GSP win this is BS!!!!!!!! waaahhhhhh
OK I will remember to ressurect this thread on Sept 23rd when BJ gets pwned and all you fools who know jack shit about MMA start making up excuses why BJ lost. HAHAHA

The Facts don't lie:
Matt Hughes: record = 39-4-0
was 13-0 until his loss in 2004 to BJ Penn,
since 2004 Hughes is 5-0 including defeating GSP
George St. Pierre: record = 12-1-0
since his only loss to Hughes in 2004 is 5-0
including beating BJ Penn recently
BJ Penn: record = 10-3-1
since his win over Hughes in 2004 he is 3-2
coming off a recent loss to GSP who he couldn't submit
yet Hughes the wrestler easily submitted GSP.
Worst record of all three fighters = BJ Penn. Most losing fighter = BJ Penn. The fighter coming off the most recent loss = BJ Penn.
September 23rd. The loser will be BJ Penn. Internet Sports Betting sites like Sports Interactive have Hughes at 1.5 vs Penn at 2.5. (meaning Penn serious underdog).
But it doesn't matter what is typed in this thread. All you BJ Penn is an MMA G-d nuttlers will just ignore it and say we are all n00bs. Hahahaha.
