sick of the ufc bandwagon!

Is it just me or is anybody else out there tired of the current ufc band wagon? I can't stand seein people with tapout, affliction shirts, colored mowhawks and arm covered tatoo's. What's the problem with that? Question: where were these people in 2000 when pride had their grand prix? When Liddell fought Couture the first time? Do they even know who Taktarov, Sakuraba or Severn are? I dout it. It's become trendy to watch UFC! These people could care less for mma. It's all a front the average ufc fan puts on to look toughf or be cool. This weekend when Henderson and Silva fight this weekend, do they even realize the magnitude of this bout or is it just another excuse to drink beer and party?
Anybody else feelin what I'm sayn?

those people you are talking about are a demographic. demographics help us study how to keep businesses alive and ticking, make more money for fighters, etc.

more money for fighters means more market for fighters. more market for fighters means better athletes coming in to fight, meaning better fights.

it is all something that any sport would love to have happen.

Just so we are clear. You are upset that MMA has finally reached the masses? I'm guessing you are upset that it has reached the masses in the form of UFC. WTF. What did you think the sport was just your own little thing? You are a elitist! Personally I'm estatic that this sport that I love so much is on the cusp of exploding in popular culture. Like someone else said, this means more money for them so they can train properly, and not have to live out of a fucking trailer.

So much Hate!!

I don't have a problem with them making money or the greatest sport on earth being enjoyed by millions! It does floor me when some guy who can't even pronounce the fighters name correctly trys to make statements about how a fight should go. Then you see guys wearing a mma t-shirt, with a green mohawk and you're like dude " what you think about so and so fighting" then they look back at you with some blank stare! I love the UFC but, I'm just sick of the posers!
