umm after watching the fight against JWP, i believed Buakaw won it i don't see why the judges were being so bias at times.

And do the reason people say Buakaw is fading is because he doesn't KO people the way Yod does? As someone has previosuly pointed out his losses only come from elite fighters and he does make fighting against the elite look easy when we all know its not.

Back on topic, the day they let Yod in the K-1 Max is the day hell freezes over.

Since the 2005 MAX Final, he has only lost to Masato and Sato. People can spin his performances however they want but those are the facts. The guy fights more than anyone in MAX, only has a handful of actual losses (ALL of which were against elite fighters) and regularly owns quality opponents.
Thank you! Sometimes it felt as though I was the only sane person when it came to Buakaw. You can also throw in the fact that he is a smaller fighter competing against guys who probably weigh 75+ kg on fight night to his sub 70 kg natural weight.

The comments about Buakaw fading is ridiculous. Even Michael on that night made it sound like Buakaw did nothing in the K-1 MAX Final 16. Yea, he DID almost get KO'd Michael, but maybe you should've mentioned the fact that he put Dida through 3 rounds of Muay Thai clinic, and the extra round HAD to occur because Dida scored a KD. The JWP sack hugging was a little ridiculous. The ONE time I really disliked The Voice. (EDIT: This was during Champions of Champions 2 btw)

To say 'the Japanese' are afraid is wrong. As I said, there are (and have always been) plenty of Thais being invited to Japan to fight. The problem is strictly with K-1.

Also, if they are afraid of Thai domination, why so many Dutch fighters? Not only are there many dutch fighters but two of them are actually champion material (Souwer, Kraus).

..and if K-1 were strictly interested in promoting Japanese fighters, how do you explain Sato continuously being screwed-over by the judges and made to fight all the best in MAX?

^ Nobody talks about this.

Fighting WWs who are 5 kg or more bigger than you come fight time isn't easy. Buakaw does it regularly. In Jamaica, Buakaw weighed in at 69,5kg whereas JWP cut to 71 and the commentator claimed he was somewhere around 78kg when he stepped into the ring.

This is a big deal. Buakaw's team actually refused to send him to the scale because they thought the fight was at 70kg. It took the promoters 1 hour to get them to accept these terms. This is why Buakaw's camp doesn't want to fight Yod 'for the hell of it' - he is not Kultar Gill or Andre Dida.

TBS (the network MAX is on), hates Sato. HATES. As in, cut matches of him for no reason at all HATES. A pity, since the video of him raping Goryaev probably would have shut up a lot of the more fanatic MMA fans over here.

As I said before, I'm really hoping that Masato takes over MAX when he retires (as Tanikawa suggested). Tanikawa is keeping out the Thais because he still clings to the old phobia of "Thai domination via boring clinch" and keeps out guys on basis of looks. Masato would likely be a lot less contencious on that point.

HUGE deal. 172lbs vs 153lbs... 20lb difference. If anyone thinks this doesn't make a difference, that person needs their head examined, or to actually train for once in their life. I totally supported Buakaw's camps decision to say "no way." You're right, CPH, Yod is no "can" Muay Thai fighter. To call Buakaw a coward for not fighting him is so ridiculous.
