You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Anyone who thinks Buakaw DIDN'T beat JWP really needs to watch more Muay Thai rules fights, or at least know what judges are looking for. This isn't MMA.

lol, fading as a fighter... shut the hell up.

Reasons why Yod's having troubles getting into MAX

1. He's a Thai. The producer of K-1 already announced that there won't be more than one Thai in MAX at any one time. Mostly because Thai fighters are regarded as being boring clinchers. Seems pretty unfair, especially since Buakaw's become a regular in MAX and Yod has real KO power in his hands.

2. He's not exactly ugly, but he's no Holtzken or Kyshenko either. K-1 needs to get ratings, and MAX especially is geared towards getting female fans.

That said, I think Yod'll find himself a slot next year, if Masato becomes producer in Tanikawa's place.

I thought that Buakaw marginally took it over JWP, but that scoring variation was rubbish. 50-49, 48-47, 49-46? What's that crap? JWP certainly out-boxed Buakaw, but it's not a boxing match. Grappling is King, and that's where JW can fall short early when he's tense.

Sorry that this is off topic, but i wanted to reply...

K1 is robbing us of being able to see Yodsaenklai fight in their events while he is in his prime. Its bogus. They will let multiple Dutch and Japanese fighters in their events, but only 1 Thai. Its bullshit, and think about this. Had Yodsaenklai been in this years tournament, their would be a very good chance he would end up fighting Buakaw.

It is BS Yod isn't in there just makes you wonder how long he can keep up the level he is fighting at now and even if they do call on him in a couple years if he could get to 70kg.

Not sure where you got the idea that Buakaw is 'fading'... the fight was close, but Buakaw won that fight. You must have been paying too much attention to the commentary to realize. Buakaw just beat JWP who beat Zambo pretty soundly not too long ago. Just because he's not knocking people out doesnt mean he's 'fading' as you call it.

Yodsenklai is a Tank. I think he's pretty much 'the Shit' at the moment, on the global stage. I'm sure there are European fighters who would give him a run for his money, but he's got the lot.

I don't think that they're snubbing Yod because he is too good (not really). Petrosyan is also a great fighter, one who will immediately affect the balance of power in MAX, but he finally managed to get in.

It's got nothing to do with his style of fighting of marketability either - that's just a bullshit theory. The guy is a KO machine with exceptional hands. I am convinced that he would put a beating on a lot of the MAX fighters. It annoys me to no end just thinking about all the matchups we are missing out on...

...So it has to be the fact that Yod is thai. By why would that matter in Japan? There are plenty of thais fighting for other Japanese promotions and the fans seem to appreciate them. It's FEG in particular that obviously does not fancy having two really strong thais in their lineup. I really don't know why that is.

By the way: this stuff about Buakaw 'fading' is ridiculous. It really is the product of the forum's bandwagon-jumping/lemming mentality.

Since the 2005 MAX Final, he has only lost to Masato and Sato. People can spin his performances however they want but those are the facts. The guy fights more than anyone in MAX, only has a handful of actual losses (ALL of which were against elite fighters) and regularly owns quality opponents.

I think Japanese are afraid of Thais total domination in K-1 max. There are lots of tough fighters in Thailand.
