Would you rather watch top Muay Thai events or K1?

I am not terribly educated in the kickboxing circuit since I primarily train BJJ with secondary emphasis on boxing. I have become really interested in Muay Thai after my trip to Thailand and to Lumpinee Stadium and I was thinking how much more entertaining straight Muay Thai rules are compared to K1.

What do you guys prefer to watch? I know K1 has the top talent but more restrictive rules. Do you think it would be better if K1 adopted straight Muay Thai rules?

I bought the S1 World Championship 2003 dvd at Lumpinee and really enjoyed it (minus the shitty commentary). Is this one of the biggest Muay Thai events? If not, what is and how is it determined who the best is? I have seen clips of Buakaw (spelling?) and he is fun to watch though I don't know if he is the best or not.

Both are great, but it's hard to beat watching a muay Thai event in Thailand. It's hard to find good muay Thai dvd's, though.

My understanding is that the S-1 world championship is second only to the Lumpini championship in terms of muay Thai prestige.

I love standup and both are excellent to watch but I do like the fact that the muay thai fights are less restrictive and elbows are allowed. The best place to find k1 and muay thai dvd's are on e-bay.

I don't think K1 attracts better fighters, but I think it attractes bigger fighters.

For top notch kickboxing its tough to beat Muay Thai in Thai Land.

Muay Thai as long as they don't spend the entire time in the clinch. I understand why they do it, I just don't find it as exciting.

i love both, my ideal setting would be K-1 with full on Muai Thai rules, the main one being allowing to knee while pulling the head down.
