He did a decent job of checking kicks with his right leg against suriya so maybe he won't do that badly at distance against petrosyan.
You can't really think of it like that. Suriya was a last minute replacement (as the original opponent was contagious) and Masato had no chance to prepare for him, or his southpaw style.

Regardless of stance, if you prepare properly for an opponent, it shouldn't be a problem.

As I see it, Yod's invite to the final 16 can't come soon enough.

It's BS that Askerov (spelling?) is now fighting in K-1 and had a place in the final 16, whereas Yod did not.

But, if nobody else can best Petrosyan, I wouldn't rest all my hopes on Yodsanklai (although we may have no choice). He is an awesome fighter, but if no-one else can find a *****, I'm doubtful that he will.

Oh very good I have to give props to the people who have taken the time to write the wikipedia articles.

I didn't say anything untrue through, with the exception of that bluff which you expertly called.

So many threads are becoming Petrosyan war wagons, and everyone seems to think that Masato will only win (and has only won) by crooked decisions. Which is most definitely not the case.
You should pay attention who's posting this rubbish. The real fans knows what Masato can do and I think its gonna be a real close fight.
I only hope he is not going to fight Petrosyan but he should face Souwer. Masato stated he's been training for the Souwer fight since July....

Masato v Souwer may still happen on NYE.

After all, 2 months isn't long for a broken hand to heal...

I too would like Masato to fight Souwer at Dynamite and to beat him decisively.

Well, not everyone. I suppose I should have phrased it as everyone posting, because up until you, just about everyone was seemingly expecting Petrosyan to walk it. Which for the record, would never happen.

i think that Petro can win, but nobody says that it will be an easy win or that masato isn't a good fighter.
it seems that YOU are saying that Masato is going to walk it... i'm just saying that Petro is a top class fighter like Buakaw, Souwer or Masato.... so it wont be easy.

i'll bet on Petrosian because he can handle "k-1 boxers" better than pure nakmuays...

may the best man win!

I'll go with that.

I still feel that Petrosyan is overrated. If he wins again next year, I'll accept what people are saying as more than just hype.

Nobody has managed successive wins of the Max tournament, so if he manages it, he must be something very special.
