I doubt it has anything to do with football for a start just about every country in Europe bleeds youngsters in football early in life.
The only thing i could see in Holland that was diffrent from the UK was MT fights are advertised a lot more also the Dutch are a very tall nation so can produce a lot more heavy weights which is were they are most sucessfull.

heh ik heb een tijdje in Kops Gym getrained ( waar Peter Aerts tot voor kort dus ook trainde ) ... en er waren aardig wat mensen in de gym zelfs die hem niet eens kende noch herkende.
wel een aardige gozer trouwens, Joval ook trouwens ( voor de boksfans )

I think it might just be the genes. My gf is Dutch (not born there though) and the first time I got her to train muay thai with me she surprised the shit out of me! She could kick and punch harder then the guys I was training with! (guys around 120-140 lbs)
