Whose the Favorite?

I'm new to K-1 and i wanna know who the favorite is to win the WGP. Is it Schilt seeing how he's won it 3 times?

In the final 8,you never know. All these guys are incredible kickboxers. But four of them stand out:

1.) Badr Hari,he has the skills to do it,awesome offensive game, talent, creativity,KO power, the crowd would love it,because he is very exciting...what might hold him back is his hot temper(like his DQ loss in last years finals),and that he is knockoutable.

2.) Alistair Overeem, only 3 K-1 fights in the last couple of years, but those were against top competition and he looked great in them. Great size, power, some nice techniques...but he used to gas in some of his fights, and 3 fights against top competition in one night is daaamn long,he is unproven in 1-night tourneys

3.) Semmy Schilt,he is a huge guy with long reach, and knows how to use it,dominated the competition for three years, but ever since Peter beat him,he got kinda exposed(and I hate to use this word, but really). Badr knocked him out in the first round,Gerges and Ghita made him fight very hard for the win. He had a lucky draw,as he should beat JLB,and probably meet with Remy in the semi-finals,and Remy is a good matchup for Semmy. But I would favor both Hari and Alistair Overhim.(this was a very bad joke, sorry)

4.) Remy Bonjasky, never underestimate the champion. Might not be a fan favourite(still my fav fighter),might not have big KO power, but his nearly unbreakable defense and intelligent fighting stlye makes him a top contender. Plus if its a close fight, the judges used to favour Remy. Plus his stamina was already tested in 2004,and he did really well in a very long night.

The underdogs and why are they the underdogs:

Ruslan Karaev - I would LOVE to see him win the tourney,he is hands down the most entertaining fighter out there, but he has a bad chin, and although his cardio is good as he used to fight at a very high pace for three or four rounds,Im not sure he can keep that tempo up for 3 fights against top comp in one night

Ewerton Teixeira - Solid fighter, very hard to fight against, but I see him as a quality gatekeeper, rather than a champion-material. I think the elite fighters can solve him (although Ewerton will hurt them)

Jerome LeBanner - The battle cyborg is kinda old,had some injuries recently, and is in a bad streak. He has some big fights left in him,I give him a solid chance to upset Semmy,if he rushes in. But 3 fights is too much, and I dont see him breaking Remys defense.

Errol Zimmerman - I think he has the potential to become a future superstar,he has great athletic abilities, respectable KO power, nice skills, but he seems kinda unpolished and lazy sometimes. He is a fighter to watch, but its not his time yet. With all this said...never underestimate him,he puts up his best performances against the best fighters. Knows when to be good. Even if Remy wins,Errol will wear him down for sure.

Also, dont forget about the reserve fight,Aerts and Saki are great fighters too.

My prediction is a Hari-Bonjasky III fight in the finals, with Remy getting the win.

I have seen a couple fights of each of these guys, my favorite is Karaev and I do like Hari alot. Why did Hari get DQed? I have heard about this but never found out why. I hope Remy doesn't win he rubbed me the wrong way when he beat Overeem in an unimpressive fight and then celebrated a little to much.

he pushed him down, punched while Remy was on the ground, and stomped his face. Thats a DQ even in MMA. I like Hari too BTW,I dont like this "Hari fans hate Remy,Remy fans hate Hari" thing at all.

Odds on favourite has to be Badr. I mean he dispatched everyone last year (except the imfamous final) and he made quick work of Schilt this year, something no one has ever done.

Lmao what made him do that? And it's not because I like Hari that I don't like Remy, I don't like him cause he was a little to happy with his performance (which was unimpressive) against Overeem. And i'm totally unbiased seeing as that was the 1st K-1 event that I had watched. I acknowledge the fact that Remy is an elite fighter after watching some of his other performances.

I dont know, but I hope he wont do anything like that again. I hate this kind of drama.

Remys performance wasnt impressive against AO,but if I remember correctly,he wasnt 100%,had an injured knee or something. No wonder that he was that happy.

For me Remmy is the fav. His defence is too good. But going through Errol, Schilt and Badr or Overeem on 1 night is tough!

I would say Badr is the HUGE favorite, but I cannot get that loss vs Overeem out of my head

I mean Alistair is a beast, and it would not surprise me to see him win, but Badr just got owned so fast it was hard to believe.

That being said he is very good, and I expect him to win, but would be nice to see JLB get some KOs.

Maybe Remy though...
