What happend to the K1 tryouts in Vegas?

I remember in years past the K1 would have their annual event in Las Vegas that would be preceeded by open tryouts to scout new, up and coming talent. But I don't seem to recall their being any tryouts held last year and I don't see any tryouts scheduled for this year.

What's the deal? Has K1 basically given up on the U.S. market? Anyone out there know what's going on?

Honestly, I dont think K-1 is interested in expanding it's org in the USA. I mean why the heck else would they do this? Plus with no tv deals and with FSN not even showing re-runs anymore I cant help but think K-1 is all but dead to the US. Makes me mad/sad.

K-1 turned tail and ran after the Dynamite USA fiasco. I don't anticipate their returning, ever.

They can't get popluar in the US until they find a good kickboxer in the US. In the states people only watch sports with US player/fighters. K1 doesn't have any fighter on the top list that are Americans. Hard to market after americans with no fighters representing them.

Just like Soccer(football) in the US. It's pretty much dead here because the team isn't that great. I have no doubt that Soccer would be a lot bigger in the US like every other country if they had a dominate team.

K-1 has probably givin up on USA.

It sucks that the "regional tournaments" are full of guys that don't live in the country of the tourney.

I mean... 8 slots in a tourney, and the Vegas show has, what?, 2 Americans???
