I need some help.
I'm an mma fan mostly, but I'm somewhat interested in K1.. however, being from Canada I haven't had much exposure to this combat sport, other than highlights.. I've seen some mma fights in K1 and I watched some of the 2007 gp, but I am pretty ignorant of the fighters in this org.. there's a gp in taipei this weekend and I am attending and aside from sefo and bonjasky, I don't know any of these guys...
I'm obviously going to watch the whole thing considering that I will be in attendance, but who should I watch for? which fights do you guys think will be ones to pay special attention to (not go get beer during etc.)
any advice will be appreciated... here's the lineup in the best format I could find it in... (everything else shows up in chinese or japanese for me... stupid cookies)

Sawayashiki is somewhat of a rising star in Japan, but I'm not too fond of his style. Sefo is a shell of his former self, but Samedov is pretty skilled so it could still be exciting still...

Yeah, more or less what Jake Martin said. Zabit Samedov is a great upcoming star with a technical but aggressive style, and don't be surprised if he beats Sefo to a decision. Ruslan Karaev is an exciting all-action fighter with a sawdust jaw. Don't sneeze or you might end the fight early for him. Other than that sit back and enjoy the fireworks. Alexander Pitchkunov is a Kyokushin karate expert with a technical, somewhat cautious style and a nice range of kicks. My pic to win the tourney. Junichi Sawayashiki is kind of an unknown quantity at this point. He made his name by beating Jerome Le Banner, but has had some bad losses recently. Quite skilled and technical but maybe mentally weak. A fighter not mentioned that's usually worth watching is Tatsufumi Tomihira. Crazy guy. Also Young Hyun Kim the Korean giant, who's not much of a fighter, but quite the spectacle.

Agree with all of the above. Zabit vs. Sefo should be a slugfest. Two aggressive bangers who always move forward. Also, keep an eye on Volk. Remy is the man, but Atajev is a tricky one. I remember he almost decapitated Alistair Overeem with a spinning heel kick ala Hari vs. Leko.

I've seen Hoost and Lebanner and Semmi fights.. I am semi-familiar with the big names (outside of your world, obviously) I just don't have any chance to see or follow it.. thanks again for the info and for being cool.
