But this is just an atrocity that surpasses him letting JLB go back into the 2002 Finals with a broken arm.
It's Takeda's last fight, his cornermen probably burned the towel before the entrance! It's his job to make sure nobody bloody dies in the ring, and Kakuda seems to be utterly incompetent at this. Note Masato's stunned mutterings

Well I knew he was going to let fight go further but, Masato was right. Kozo has eyesight problems already, so the fight should have ended a little earlier
Kakuda was a decent (but never top) fighter and a celebrity in japan with good media coverage (=good PR), but he has always been a lousy judge/ref in K-1.
But he has a lot of power in FEG, so I don't think he will be dismissed that easily.

Yeah, I heard Masato say that, too. He was right, though. I know Kozo wants to go out like a warrior, and his toppa mentality is the cause of it, but yeah - how he was letting this go on is beyond me. Riichi and I were talking about it, too.

This was just awful...Kozo looked like he was about to pass out in the second round. If Kraus would have KOed him clean Kozo would have had some serious medical problems. Kozo had the same look many boxers have after 12 grueling rounds and go on to fall into a coma, and this was only in the 2nd. The guy is beyond shot and should never be allowed to fight again for his own safety.
