[i think the only body part working on remy was his right foot.]

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Da Bonj, but the old remy would have ko'd manny 2 minutes into the first round.

Manny get my respect.
I don't know if he's gonna be ready for dream 3, or at in least top form.
Dude reading this is should have been a thread about what Manhoef was doing wrong, not about Remy not looking like his old self even though he won with a highlight reel KO. If you were a fan than you would have just been happy Remy won. Saying your a fan and talking shit doesn't make it okay.

I thought it was a great fight and Remy looked good. It was a better performance than in their last fight.

Remy is the bomb, but theres a really unimpressive video of him working mits. I thought this was gonna be a thread on that.

Now the last few years (2005-2007) Remy saw his personal life change a bit: marriage shot to hell, didnt get to see his kid for some time, a break up with his longtime trainer, the search for a new gym/trainer and the loss of his mom. I dont find it surprising that he didnt perform well during the last two years (he won most of his fights but not in the way you knew him to).

Now, in 2008, I think Remy is allmost back. He's done some soulsearching, he looks focused (fights against Hari, Aerts and Manhoef) and the knees are back! If he can keep up with the good work I see him as a finalist in Tokio for the next 2-5 years.
Not to mention getting hit in the neck by a ninja blow dart. Can't forget the ninja blow darts.

Dude i was completely impressed with Remy. You are right that he had serieus advantages but if you just look at the times Melvin got knocked to the ground plus the eight seconds, then you would agree that he was pretty superior. Its true that Remy didnt produce a knockout. He needs to work on that but on the other hand Melvin takes punishment like a champ and his jaw isnt to bad.He was actually doing quit a good job at avoiding the knees of Remy should was wasnt just walking into blows,he had a gameplan and Remy had to work for it.I still thought it was a great fight and i do hope Manhoef will keep focusing on K1 because i love his explosive style and i think he has real potential since he does seem to learn quickly.Dont really like his mma game though,i dont really think he groundgame is well rounded and i am not really sure about the takedown defense either. Then again which dutch MMA fighter is really up there with the worlds best.Anyways i thought this fight was the best fight of the evening.

Surprised how few people have mentioned the size difference. Melvin is alot smaller.

Remy punished Manhoef with some solid knees inside. Manhoef is an animal. I'd say they were both impressive but that wouldn't be good enough for some of you trolls.
