Props To Sato

Awesome avenging. I had Sato loosing the fight bad. Everyone could clearly see his best effort was about to fall short until.... Boom the knee that almost made Buakaw throw up. Then the right hook to follow. Awesome job by Sato. Buakaw is still in my mind the best in the Max mix. These guys are so good anyone can fall on any given day.

Sato has my full respect.

Good thread. Most people are focusing on Buakaw and where he stands after the fight and what he did wrong in the fight, not many people are giving Sato props and he deserves them after that fight. Good work Sato. I want him to go and beat Masato as well.

I always like seeing tall fighters use their reach, so many guys don't use what they have whether it's quickness, reach, power, or something else...Sato has learned to use his height and it helps.

I agree with you Lethal. Stay tall make a short fighter do the work. You cant fight Sato 10 times and expect him to not beat you a few of them. He learns as he goes. Buakaw is still nova hot in the fight world, but eventually so many rematches will get you caught. The whole Max pool is a toss up because anyone can win on any given Sunday. lol

Yep good thread. Sato really upped his game. It's clear he studied Masato's gameplan to perfection, throwing the uppercut whenever Buakaw tried to close or was off balance from a leg check to a kick that never came. In addition he used something Masato didn't have, his reach, to keep Buakaw on the outside and pepper him with low kicks, knees and punches. The KO was well set-up and well-earned.

Congratulations Sato, and best of luck for the finals.

Still, I wouldn't say Sato was losing bad. He took the first round, IMO, and was competitive in the second and third. I had Buakaw winning going into the final straight, but it was nowhere near the clinic he put on Sato the last two times they fought.

I'll be interested to see what Sato brings to the table come the finals. Masato is a lot more unpredictable and varied in his assault and doesn't tend to stand in front of you and slug it out.
