Ya its such a tough style to fight against when you want to use your hands and you aren't able to get past his kicking range. I'm almost convinced he just changed his style to please K-1, going out there and boxing with guys. I thought he lost his old style, but clearly he still has it and he showed its effectiveness in that last fight. Had this been in K-1, and Buakaw fought in that style, JWP would have probably ended up winning this fight. Great performance regardless JWP!

Since 2007, people have been saying that Buakaw has the wrong game plan, that he is 'in love with his hands'. I've always said this but this fight only proves it: He is doing what he thinks will get him the win, that's all...

He learned from his first two losses (Kraus, Souwer) that not engaging the opponent with the hands is seen as a sign of weakness by K-1 judges and can therefore cost you the fight.

In the 2007 fight vs Masato for example, Buakaw knew that after the KD, there was no way in hell he could win the fight or even get the extra round by simply dominating the hell out of Masato with kicks. That's why he boxed and that's why Masato made it look easy.

Masato made it look easy in terms of JUDGES SCORING. Did you watch Round 1 and 2? Hahaha, this is deja vu as I've argued this already, but Buakaw was beating Masato in those first 2 rounds (minus the flash KD). Masato's legs were brutalized and definitely contributed to why Masato lost in 07. Masato did dominate Buakaw in 3 though.

I believe thats the punching arrow sak yant. There was an episode of season 1 Contender Asia where the guys get tattoos. I believe Yod has one also,he at least got his first tattoo on the show. Arjan(master) Noo is the most well known sak yant tattoist and is about 35 miles outside Bangkok. It must be done by a Monk or Arjan.
