Since 2007, people have been saying that Buakaw has the wrong game plan, that he is 'in love with his hands'. I've always said this but this fight only proves it: He is doing what he thinks will get him the win, that's all...
He learned from his first two losses (Kraus, Souwer) that not engaging the opponent with the hands is seen as a sign of weakness by K-1 judges and can therefore cost you the fight.
In the 2007 fight vs Masato for example, Buakaw knew that after the KD, there was no way in hell he could win the fight or even get the extra round by simply dominating the hell out of Masato with kicks. That's why he boxed and that's why Masato made it look easy.
