It really depends on the way the karateka is trained. It also depends on the rules. Putting gloves on a karate fighter takes away from the techniques that a karate fighter uses because we normally dont use gloves. It doesnt help that there are like a couple hundred styles of karate and as far as I know The muay thai fighters adhere to a style wide measure. Not that they are all the same but that they are a lot closer than most karate to each other.
