croatia_k1 is dumb.....
kyokushin is almost similar to muay thai....it's like muay thai in a gi without knees and elbows or thai clinch...

OP didn't really specify under what rules he'd want these fantasy fights to happen.

At a glance, it sure seems like MT has an advantage in most non-kk rules. For example, I think it's pretty obvious that MT skils are more relevant to MMA or NHB matches.

I would say Muay Thai.

I have a friend who has done KK for years and then now is trying out MT at my gym, his striking is good but he keeps his hands really low because in KK they dont strike to the face, keeping your hands lower like that is dangerous in MT. Plus in MT we have elbows & knee's.

I respect all martial arts but feel MT is more dangerous.

I agree, internet tough guys are fucking retarded. I bet he would shit his pants after saying anything like that to Lechi.

Machida is writing a book called "Karate for MMA," for those of you denying his Shotokan roots.

The thing is, Kyokushin is so different from Shotokan that it's not funny. Kyokushin produced guys like Franciso Fihlo and Andy Hug, while Machida is the only Shotokan guy of note (and he heavily crosstrained)
