you guys are all fucked, and dont read anyones posts before you post.

i posted a youtube link that shows lyoto competing in Karate, and in 2005 for those who think his karate training stopped when he was a kid, and only a fuckin complete noob doesnt see that his karate stance and MMA stance are the same, therefore he DOES relie on Karate.

his dad is a Shotokan MASTER, and still teachs him Karate til this day.

and the block-counter against Hogar is not boxing you Rednecks.

Why has Machida been brought up? He's trained in shotokan, not kyokushin.

Why is this even a discussion. Machida, Shilt, GSP and others prove that karate works, Cung Le proves that Kung Fu works............if you train and adapt to full contact. good bye

GSP doesnt use karate, he uses wrestling

MAchida does use it and is getting decision wins because of his natrually fast reflexes so hes pretty elusive.. he doesnt knock people out

Semmy isnt technically all he is cracked up to be. IF he was a normal sized HW.. like 6'2 or something, he would be FUCK ALL
Apparently you didn't know that Machida's one of 2 people on the planet to stop Rich Franklin

HAHA.. Both art are really good.. Still it's the fighter not the art. If one fighter can adopt to the technique then he can win against his opponent. Muay Thai is very simple and practical. Kyokushin is simple, it only includes katas but in some dojo, they just train and have kumite(sparring). Not all Karate are worthless. Why are you comparing Muay Thai and Karate in MMA. MMA is Mixed Martial Arts. Just read the word MMA many times and you will understand. If they are effective then use it. We just base it on our own opinion. But it would definitely a good match between MT and KK. We doesn't know who will win. It depends on the fighter and how he trains.
