Mohammed Samir

I don't watch much kickboxing, but occassionally I'll TIVO a fight or two off of ESPN. Last night I watched some guy named Mohammed Samir fight. They said he was 109-0-0. Thats incredible! So tell me kickboxing fans, is it legitimate. Do any of you know about this guy? Is he the Rickson Gracie of Kickboxing, just more myth than reality or is this guy really basically the best in the world?

Well, he actually did win it; but his management is extremely protective so he didn't fight the cream of the crop.

Don't get me wrong, he's good, real good, and he didn't face cans alone, but he didn't face the Masato's and Buakaws either.

So unless he fights competition like that, he's just good. But not the best.

I hate to see a great career go to waste like that. I mean he will probably be vaguely remembered in the future by fans of the sport, but if he were to fight some big names and win he will be a legend forever. Even if he loses too a few big names and beats a few big names he could be a legend forever.

he won a decision against jean charles skarbovsky but also under kickboxing rules,it was obvious JCS missed clinch, knees and elbows but it was very very close and very exciting fight, decision could have gone either way

He's by no means the Rickson of kickboxing. Some of those Thai fighters you never here about are crazy skilled and have simialr records. Anyone who's 109-0, though, is something special no matter who they've fought.

He's pretty good, didn't he also beat Kamel Jamel as well? I know he won't fight full muay thai rules though because some of the UK's best thaiboxers at his weight have challenged him to a fight under Full Thai rules and he's never got back to them.

It's no skin off his nose if he doesn't fight full rules MT. Why should he? Kickboxing is a sport in its own right and he shouldn't have to fight in a different set of rules in order to validate his achievements so far. I think he's won by KO in at least 90%+ of his matches, which is no mean feat in itself. Any accusations of protectionism could be argued that it is for the health of his opponents, not his. I've seen a few of his fights and he is right at home in the business end of things. Hats off where due!

He lost to Samir Berbachi, a C-level max fighter.

The guy's too lean to make it against Buakaw....

He should stick to 140

I've only ever seen the fights with JC and Jemel. Those are good wins. Has he fought anyone else of note besides those two?
