A good point seems to have been largely overlooked by the guys on here: Sato's game is to overwhelm the opponent with a constant barrage of lows, knees and punches, plowing through the other guys shots and never backing down no matter how much punishment he takes. The guy's like a freaking virus yet Buakaw smashed him like he was nothing.

well, for ppl who know yodesenklai
know that he doesn't need to be tested in k-1 max or anywhere
with 100s of matches in lumpinee and several such as the most famous to westerners in the parr bout
he is one of the most perfect type of fighter for k-1 rules, one that can punch and kick with brutal power
he absolutely demolished amrani in k-1
and many consider amrani being one the best from superleague, certainnly one of the best fighters in europe kickboxing

I seen Buakaw kick and hit the shit out of Andy Souwer in the 2006 K1 final. Ref stopped the fight after 3 Knock downs.
I rest my case.

In my opinion the match will never take place because Buakaw is a moneymaking poster boy for K1 at this point in time. They (the K1 honchos) are going to milk this cash cow for as much as possible before taking the chance on having Buakaw take on a "tough nut" Thai like Yod. I would really like to see the two fight, but the call is up to the promoters, not the fans.

Notice that Buakaw's next match is against Ole Laursen (11/24/06 in Stockholm, K1 rules) rather than someone more dangerous like Farid Villaume...let alone someone the caliber of Yodsenklai. A good looking kid who can really fight and has a charismatic personality (like Buakaw) is a cash cow for K1. Promoting Farid or Yodsenklai to the world like they can promote Buakaw is well, not very likely. Ergo, no Buakaw versus Yodsenklai in the forseeable future in my opinion.

My money would be on Yodsenklai by close decision if they were ever to get in the ring together. Just a hunch on my part.

P.S.-Sato put out his "granite"(???) chin on a platter against Buakaw. Drago walks right into jabs and straight rights from everybody. Jomhod is over the hill and didn't appear to be too motivated when he fought Buakaw (that match reminded me of Samart's final Muay Thai match in Bangkok...no enthusiasm...he was thinking about his singing career in the ring probably)

calling Buakaw a posterboy is funny considering that they did everything in their power to derail him and screw him over. The only person who's been screwed with worse is probably Semmy Schilt.

And the fact he's overcome that is the reason they build on him now. The crowd love his teeps (bar them hitting Masato) and with his newfound KO power, they've got a highlight reel champion who always brings a fast pace and exciting match up.

Still, Masato's prettier, and pretty is what sells.

K1 is NOT protecting Buakaw - since he's been with them, he's faced all the top fighters available to them: JWP, Kraus (x2), Souwer (x2), Masato, Zambidis, Sato, Drago.. They are doing their very best to bring him off his pedestal.

You really must have an agenda to be calling Sato, Drago and Jomhod 'gimmes'.. Sato is an elite fighter with a hell of a chin. If you don't think so, you simply haven't seen his fights. He gets hit because he plays a very aggressive game. Same with Drago: he walks through a lot of shots because he is constantly pressuring his opponent, trying to finish him. And he usually does: just look at his record.
As for Jomhod: yes, he was way past his prime but if you actually saw the fight, you would know thet he came into the ring fit, showed great speed and fought very aggressively. 'Not too motivated'? You really are fishing..
