KlasH Star Alviar Lima in K1 Max

Alviar Lima enters K1 max!
Friday, 09 May 2008
Alviar “ The Machine” Lima, KlasH Superstar enters K1 Max! 7 july , Mr. Pressure enters the K1 Max being the second Team Superpro fighter in the worlds most prestigious fightevent at -70kg. It is clear that the special “Lima warstyle” has charmed the Japan K1 board and Lima is now welcomed to start a new chapter in what already is a fantastic career.

Let’s get back in time 2005, Alviar Lima is joining Team Superpro and go’s in Superleague winning the tournament beating and tearing he’s three opponent (Jose Reis, Ali Gunyar, Kamal El Amrani) apart. The tone is set and Lima left Superleague unbeaten to search for new challenges.
It’s Showtime trophy part 1, Lima would fight an epic battle vs Najim Etthouhlali and won this clash of Champions after three hectic high level rounds. Second fight gives away the win to the later Showtime champion Sahin Yakut Kaas, yet again after a very hard fought fight.

In meantime KlasH is getting big and Lima becomes the new star of this league after great wins over Imro Main, Vasily Shish just to name a few. The style Lima is producing every fight is remarked by K1 and 2008 he enters the qualification in Holland as one of the favourites. But first he has the important job taking out one of Holland biggest upcoming fighters Nicky Holzken at Beast of The East. Lima winning the bout bye a devastating knockout in R2 it is clear that Lima is ready for K1. The tournemant would not produce the awaited win for Lima but the style and career to back it all up, Lima is contacted by K1 to become mayby one of the future K1 Max Champions. A great addition to K1 to say the least!

I never liked his style, he moves slowly forward with high guard and swings...

But I have nothing personal against him, if he keeps KO.ing top European fighter he should be a part of max. Max needs less japanese fighters and more quality dutch/thais/europeans (as in Lima, Yod and Petrosyan to name a few)

Before I ever knew his name I recognized him by his garish tattoo.

His fight with Nicky Holzken was great. Nicky tried to bang with a banger and was doing good until he got caught and stopped. I don't know if he's well rounded enough to hang with the MAX elite but I we'll find out soon.

He has the power.. but I think he is a bit slow compared to the top -70 fighters. However, he'll be a dangerous opponent for any current K-1 Max fighter, because this guy has the power to KO 'any' opponent at anytime.

I would like to see Petroysan in K-1 Max soon.. That guy is awesome..

It's abit strange that he's getting this chance. There are a lot of -76kg fighters who are trying to get under the 70kg limit. Most of them make the weight but get beat because their bodies cannot adapt to the new weight. Alviar Lima is one of them, getting beat in the first round of the European GP. If you look at the European GP you'll see that there are some other big Dutch names who came down from the -76kg class who got their ass handed to them.
